reddit infatuation

in just one more of about a gah-zillion ways, i’m becoming my mother. late to the newest app or tech and making it incredibly awkward for everyone involved.

reddit ain’t exactly the clubhouse of the social media scene anymore. it ain’t the fresh face…more like the aging uncle who still isn’t married.

but it took me until this month year’s old to discover it. and holy fuck tickles…i’m here for it.

facebook has been annoying the shit out of me with the weird flexes, the fake af highlight reel, the drama. so when a rabbit hole dragged me into the /houseplant subreddit, i knew i needed to make an account and dive deeper.

569 joined subreddits later, i’m officially my mother. proudly exclaming to my 17-year-old, “have you heard of this website called reddit? it’s really cool. you should try it sometime.”

he just kinda sadly shakes his head and asks me if i’ve taken my meds for the day. turns out, the cool kids (all kids, apparently) have been on reddit since “like, middle school, bro.”

huh.

so, it’s official. it’s not a phase, it’s who i am now. another inch closer to being my mother.

and hooked on reddit’s /foodporn.
